This week has had its ups and downs; to start with I finally had a logo design approved by Steve. This has taken quite a big burden off my shoulders and brought back a bit of confidence within myself. As I was starting to think I would never get a logo design and just have to stick with a text only font. It’s also getting closer to the deadline and as most people have already completed the logo, I’m starting to feel behind.
The approved design is below and any feedback would be very helpful. At the moment I’m just trying to find an appropriate font, so it would be appreciated if you could let me know which one suits to logo most.
The down part of this week was referring A5; I don’t have too much to do to the website, but am quite disappointed as I put quite a lot of work into it. It’s also going to put some more pressure on me this week, as I’ve got quite a lot to do this week, with the logo and CD package.
The final first year lecture really makes a point at how close the end of the first year is. I can’t believe how fast the year has gone and how much we’ve learnt in that time. The lecture was very useful and now I’m feeling confident to get the CD package template done.
I really need to make a start on designing the CD cover on the computer, they were my plans until I found out I need to do some work on my A5 website. I’m going to get the website done and out of the way as soon as I can. I did get some work done on it after college on Monday, but I wish I’d done a bit more so I can concentrate on the CD package and try to make some progress on that.

Hi Greg
Getting a logo that works for this project has been quite an experience for me also so I can appreciate where you are coming from.
My personal choice would be the one in the bottom right; the slightly rotated ‘e’ I feel makes the logo complete.
I have also referred A5 and its a blow that I really didn’t need during this stage of the assignment as its just another thing to worry about; however, my amendments are also quite limited and shouldn’t take too long.

I agree with Shaun about liking the slightly rotated ‘e’ on the bottom right idea. However, this could easily be done with any font. I personally think you should avoid the rounded fonts, as they don’t look right with the sharp edges of the graphic ‘e’. I think my favourite of the lot is the second one, although it is quite light and may become too thin at small sizes. I prefer it as it’s more distinguished and characteristic than the other choices, which are relatively simple, everyday fonts.
I also think that the bottom right logo works well. I think that the font suits the logo design which makes it stand out and making it bold will make it easy to see at different sizes.
You need to think about compatibility when it comes to your logo and font, try match certain parts up to see which font works. Such as rounded edges on your logo, try a rounded font? Sharp edges, try a sharper font? Which is why I think the last one of the bunch works most. Like the logo it’s simple, with all the elements of the logo in; clean, modern.
The logo solution that you’ve come up with works well and is probably one of my favoured design in the class. Maybe keep developing see what rounded edges would do to it? Just for the sake of development and creativity.
Hi Greg, I mentioned in class that the logo that is n the second row in the middle would be great if the e was changed, it looks out of place if you know that I mean.
