Both the banners are under the 20k limit and I know what you mean about the font on Don Weller, I’ve not found a suitable font yet, any suggestions?

Thanks for all the useful comments everyone, I will make some amendments and post them up soon.

Im not sure the Tina May banner works for me, perhaps the position of the text. Also im not sure about the style of the font as I beleive its an 8. But it looks sort of like a S or 5....

Nice effort on these Greg, I really like the verticle position of the text on the first one, it's right next to the face which is the thing that draws your eye the most, which then leads you onto the text. So immediately you know who the person is.

Above that the text could be improved, I don't know what it is I can't put my finger on it, maybe try changing the text a little bit fontwise and see how it works out then.

On the Don Weller I'm not sure if that particular font works along with the picture and the theme of 'jazz', personally I think it lends it's self to computers and a more futuristic feel. Lets try get some horizontal names in there too lol.

Good overall effort, really impressed.

Hi Greg

Reaffirming the things I said during class, the font on the Tina May design I personally find it a little hard to read.

I like the fact that you have retained the colour for her photograph as it works very well.

Does the image compress down below the golden 20k mark?

The Don Weller banner works well other than the text in the top left, due to the lack of contrast it doesn't really stand off the page as well as it could.

I do really like how Don is looking at the "live at..." text.

It directs the viewers eyes well.

With regards Craig’s comment, I think that because we have all been given the same brief, the same images, the same tutor and the same time scales in which to produce the banners I feel that it is inevitable that some design ideas will overlap.

Well done.

I like the fact that you have retained the colour for her photograph as it works very well.

Does the image compress down below the golden 20k mark?

The Don Weller banner works well other than the text in the top left, due to the lack of contrast it doesn’t really stand off the page as well as it could.

I do really like how Don is looking at the “live at…” text.

It directs the viewers eyes well.

It might be easier just moving Mr Weller down a little bit to get his hat away from 'Jazz'.

You could drop just Jazz down underneath the rest of your text.

The design challenges just get better and better wait until you get the Culture Vulture assignment (may be called something different so A9). This assignment so far has been the hardest for me but now my favourite now we know our product.

I am glad you liked the banner task we did, as I really enjoyed it to.

I really like your banner designs but as you said you wasnt sure about the word 'Jazz' I was the same but I think if you try and make the word stand out then I think that will make it look good.

Apologies Gregg, it was only a joke because they are quite similar. I wasn't accusing you of anything.

I really do like both of your designs, but I’m not sure what you’re on about with the plagiarism comment. To be honest I’m quite offended by it!
